STRESS WEAKENS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
Your immune system is a collection of billions of cells that travel throughout your bloodstream and defend against antigens. However, unrelenting cortisol, your primary stress hormone, suppresses your immune system by reducing the number of lymphocytes. This is how stress lowers your immune system.
Stress may also lead to bad habits such as smoking, overly drinking alcohol, poor diet, lack of exercise, and lack of sleep. Those negative coping strategies will also reduce your immune functions.
Have you heard of Early Life Stress (ELS)? Children are sensitive to emotions, especially the adults around them. They may pick up that anxiety and suffer. Without proper care/control, the fear may turn to ELS, which has a long-term effect on their immune system.
Our suggestions to be stressless are...
Enjoy your time with pets or watch your beloved animals' pictures or videos. Research indicated that people felt less stressful after watching cats' videos.
Meditation, meditation and exercise, exercise!
